The Nordic Sounds research group aims to establish interfaculty and inter-departmental collaboration on issues dealing with music, sound, subjectivity, national and Nordic identity, culture, and social systems.
This seminar features presentations from two members of the group, who will discuss their current research projects. All welcome.
Tore St?rvold, a PhD stipendiat, University of Oslo will present his research on Icelandic music in a paper titled, "Performing Dreamland: Musical responses to environmental debates in contemporary Iceland."
Nina Nielsen, a PhD stipendiat from the Norwegian Academy of Music will talk about her research on Norwegian metal in "Black Metal Magic: Conjuring Sounds of Heritage Lost."
