Welcome

Welcome to new guest researcher Lisa Claussmann!

"Hei alle,

I am very pleased to be hosted at TIK for a month (15th January-15th February) as part of a postdoctoral research on CCS in France and Norway. I started a postdoc in STS at the Centre de Sociologie de l’Innovation in Paris in February 2024, where I work together with Brice Laurent on the political and the technical resistances surrounding the creation of a CCS infrastructure in France. My preliminary findings are mostly about CO2 capture and its transportation, as the French administration is still in the process of estimating the potential storage capacities at a national level. With this one-month stay at TIK and in Norway, I’m hoping to learn more about the storage part of CCS and the political framework which enabled the country to be seen as a European leader on the topic.

My broader research interest focuses on the social and political conditions under which the underground comes to existence as a place to dispose of industrial pollution. Prior to my postdoc, my PhD thesis traced the burial of hazardous waste in a former potash mine in the East of France.

I will have the chance to present my work at the STS methods lab on January, 30th as Rakesh and Ana indicated in a previous email and I would be delighted to meet you on this or any other occasion! Apart from that, I am very curious about your best recommendations to discover Oslo, as it is my first time here! I would be happy to chat over a coffee – my office will be 1027, right next to the kitchen.

Looking forward to meeting you!

Kind regards,

Lisa"
