Conferences
11-13 June most of the STS group at TIK was in Stockholm at the 7th Nordic STS Conference 2025 . Several of TIK's researcher organized panels:
- Stine and B?rd; Agency in owning: The politics of investment, in and out of markets
- Tone; Fleshy and Digital Doppelgangers in and out of the Life Sciences
- Susanne; The production and use of official statistics
This week, 23-26 June, several of the Innovation group researchers are in Lisbon on the IST Conference Tensions and trade-offs in structural changes for sustainability transitions.

Research, cooperation and dissemination
Next week, Kristin is invited lecturer with Jeannette Pols at two workshops at the University of Amsterdam on "What’s next in Valuing" and on the book on practice-oriented document analysis. She will also be in Paris in capacity of jury member on a thesis at CSI and have a Value threads projects meeting.

Markus has been awarded NOK 12 million from the Research Council to examine the role of public administration in the ongoing energy transition: TIK Centre receives funding for research into Norway’s energy transition - TIK Centre for Technology, Innovation and Culture

Helge has been granted financing for the last part of the project SAFE.
Susanne will give the keynote “Data critters: a partial inventory” at the PhD summer school “Ecological Data. Data Ecologies”, Goethe University Frankfurt, 30 June - 4 July 2025.

Master programs
Congratulations to our graduates!
All candidates that submitted their theses within the initial deadline have now defended them and are on track to be awarded diplomas in a few weeks. Congratulations to all of them, and thank you all for contributing to both supervision and thesis grading.
Looking ahead: Welcoming a new cohort
The new class is about to be admitted as we have now considered all 499 applications for admission to the next academic year. Admission offers will be sent in two weeks and you can meet the new group of students on Monday, August 18 in the lounge/lunch area.
Hearing on centre policy for the Faculty of Social Sciences
At the request of the Faculty Board, a working group is investigating what kind of center policy the Faculty of Social Sciences should have. The group's report En senterpolitikk for Det samfunnsvitenskapelige fakultet is now sent to all departments and centres.
The TIK leadership group will discuss an answer from TIK before the hearing deadline 25 August.
Until the deadline all employees are welcome to express their opinion about the report, by email to the dean Anne Julie Semb or the faculty director Gudleik Grimstad.
