TIK NEWS WEEK 24

People news

Welcome to Ola Innset, who has started a two year-position at TIK to write a book on the history of economics in Norway. Ola holds a PhD in history, has worked with outreach at the National Library of Norway and as a postdoc at BI. His PhD dissertation was published as "Reinventing Liberalism. The Politics, Philosophy and Economics of Early Neoliberalism (1920-1947)", and he has published the monograph "Markedsvendingen – Nyliberalismens historie i Norge" (both 2020). At BI, he researched the governance of partially state-owned companies that are publicly listed, while continuing to publish about aspects of the intellectual history of neoliberalism, Norwegian economic policy, and eventually also "the green shift." Moreover, he is a writer of novels – the latest one titled "Moss" (2024) and "Under Moss" is coming this fall. Right now, he has a nonfiction book out called "Kampen om verdiene" (2024).

On 5 June, Erlend and Kristin received their PhD diplomas in the University Aula!

TIK board

At the TIK board meeting 6 June the board was informed about the expected financial result at the end of the year - if nothing major unexpectedly occurs, the result will be approximately as expected when the board decided this year's budget last December. The successful project acquisition plays an important role in securing TIK's economy.

The board decided on the announcement of a PhD/postdoctoral fellowship in the project "Convergence and Culture in the life sciences". The announcement will be shared as soon as it is published.

The policy for applications for external research funding for postdoctoral fellows that was decided upon by the board in the last meeting is published: Policy for applications for external research funding for postdoctoral fellows.
