Congratulations

We congratulate ourselves with an increased number of applicants to TIK's master-programmes. We received a total of 397 applications to the TIK-master and 144 to ESST. A total of 541 applications compared to 480 in 2018. The number of first priority applicants has increased from 166 in 2018 to 198 in 2019.

We also congratulate Kjersti Aalbu, external PhD at TIK. She gave birth to a girl named Eva on March 28.

TIK Board and Staff-meeting on May 28

The prolonged TIK Board will have their last meeting on May 28. We use the opportunity to combine the Board-meeting with a Board and Staff-seminar and an early summerparty.

The schedule for the day is as follows:

14:00 Board-meeting (room 551)

15:00 Board and staff-seminar (room 529)

18:00 Board and staff-dinner at Kampen Bistro

We will soon send out an invitation and a sign-up form, save the date.

TIK-lunch May 7

The monthly TIK-lunch in May will be on Tuesday, May 7, at 12:00. Ana Delgado will give an introduction; "The public life of microbes. The case of bioprospecting in Norway." Bring your lunch and join!!

Visitors

We have a few visitors at TIK at the moment and more will come. This week Marie Leth Meilvang, PhD-fellow from Copenhagen University is visiting the STS-group. Harry Moncreiff, a researcher from the University of Edinburgh, has been here for some time and will continue his stay with us in May. He is sitting in the room shared by Joar, Frauke, Kari-Elisabeth and Lars.

May 17

The Norwegian Constitution Day is soon to be celebrated, and the University is hosting a breakfast for employees and families in the city centre. Note that you have to sign up by May 3.
