Infrastructure Advisory Board

The Department of Psychology houses a large infrastructure to support research at the department and seeks to develop and improve these facilities further. The Infrastructure Advisory Board is a intended to be a platform for collaboration on the topic.

“Infrastructure” is defined in a wide sense including not only physical laboratories and equipment, but also specific competence (personnel), and online tools/services for all aspects of research (data collection, data management, data sharing, etc.). The infrastructure is financed partly by departmental funds and partly by external funding.

The aim of the lab/infrastructure board is to be a forum for internal collaboration across sections, where ideas, experiences and requirements are shared – this should:

  • Help coordinate efficient use of our facilities.
  • Optimize funding from outside sources - by encouraging collaborative efforts.
  • Provide transparency and guide in allocation of internal funds, for both running costs and required investments.
  • Keep info of the status of equipment and other facilities, and their maintenance/update requirements short and long term.
  • Help prioritize development projects at the department, share their progress, and encourage contribution/collaboration for efficient execution.

This advisory board should be able to give coordinated advice (to leadership and institute board) when budgets are planned.
