The Department of Psychology recognises that Open Research is a vital part of our community, in order to enable and promote research excellence across our community.

Monthly drop-in open science sessions

This semester, the PSI Open Science Committee is excited to host monthly drop-in open science sessions. The aim of these sessions is to provide a relaxed atmosphere where PSI's researchers can receive personalized advice on incorporating open science practices in your research and teaching.

Our sessions will be facilitated by PSI staff members who have a diverse range of experience with open science, who will be available to offer their insights and expertise. We also extend an invitation to those who would like to allocate time to work on open science tasks but do not necessarily have any questions and would like to join a group of like-minded folks. Coffee, tea, and baked treats will also be served.

These sessions may especially be of interest to those who are planning grant applications or project proposals and would like advice on how to best address open science practice criteria. However, questions associated with any stage of the research process are welcome.

Potential topics of discussion include (but are not limited to):

  • Pre-registration of hypothesis-driven research and Registered Reports
  • Implementing open science in qualitative research
  • User participation
  • Sharing research materials
  • Statistical power and sample size estimation
  • Preprinting
  • Reproducible meta-analysis

So that we can be best prepared to assist you, briefly outline your question/desired topic of discussion on this Nettskjema page at least a week before attending a session: https://nettskjema.no/a/397048. However, we will also welcome people to drop in without an appointment.

Here is the schedule for PSI open science drop-in sessions this semester:

  • February 13th (12-13, HSH Seminar room 2)
