At Klinmed’s annual management meeting, discussions took place on how we can educate more medical students at UiO. In order to succeed, a common understanding of this and good sectoral cooperation is required.

On Saturday 29 June, UiO will participate in the Oslo Pride Parade with the slogan ‘Fearless Knowledge’ alongside OsloMet. Dress according to the weather. ? UiO IT: For over a year, the IT department has been working on ensuring that all laptops use the same operating system. Thousands of PCs have received the new system, and all new laptops are already part of the new setup, which makes using a new computer much easier.

NSSF: Skills development in AMK and the out-of-hours medical service (in Norwegian). Through a new e-learning programme, employees working at the out-of-hours medical service and the Emergency Services (AMK) can increase their skills in suicide risk assessment and prevention.

Overview: Upcoming public defences
- 18 - 20 August: the Nordoc Summer School at the University of Helsinki. The Nordic PhD summer camp aims to bring together researchers from all health science fields under one roof. Come along and gain an insight into the experiences of your Nordic colleagues and present what you are working on too! Registration is open until 14 June 2024. See the preliminary programme here.

NSSF: Therapists must challenge their own behaviour (in Norwegian). Professor of psychology Michaela Swales advises therapists to address their own thoughts and feelings that may hinder effective therapy.
Helsam: GPs registered fewer long consultations after research experiment (in Norwegian). The savings for society can be significant, says Ole Kristian Aars, who conducted the study together with Geir Godag, Oddvar Kaarboe and Tron Anders Moger.
NSSF: “We need to build robust children” (in Norwegian). Psychologist and researcher Kim Stene-Larsen believes that we should be better at identifying children who are at risk of developing mental health problems. He believes that both parental follow-up and the school programmes can have a big impact.
