Vice-Dean for Research and Researcher Education Grete Dyb has recently been elected as chair of Nordic Doctoral Training in Health Sciences (NorDoc). She encourages everyone who can to attend the NorDoc summer school, which this year is on antibiotic resistance. The Faculty’s new knowledge cluster, The Sustainable Health Unit (SUSTAINIT), has hit the ground running, having already laid out careful plans and initiated several activities. The Unit was established in January and has already received NOK 11 million in external support. They are now seeking input from stakeholders on the strategic document currently being drafted.

Dean of Research, Jan Bj?lie, talks about the K.G. Jebsen Foundation, which has awarded a total of 12 centres of excellence in research to MED, and that has now published a call for proposals for two new centres. Our pre-qualification process with Oslo University Hospital is underway.

The Sustainable Health Unit, a new knowledge cluster at MED, was approved in the Medical Faculty Board on 13 December 2022. The unit will highlight challenges, discussions and sustainable solutions to global and local health issues.
