Reorganization of genome topology during adipocyte differentiation.

Abstract:
Cell differentiation is accompanied by changes in the 3-dimensional (3D) organization of the genome. These underline changes in gene expression and collectively program and consolidate cell fate. Our lab combines stem cell biology, high-throughput genomics and microscopy approaches to address processes regulating chromatin topology at gene and whole-genome scales. We will discuss recent findings from the lab revealing a new level of large-scale chromatin organization in differentiating adipocytes. These chromatin remodeling processes also apply to other cell lineages, including neuronal and immune lineages, and probably others, including cardiovascular. Control of cellular processes through epigenomic mechanisms may be a way to foster joint studies across Molmed.
