Salary settlement 2025 at the University of Oslo is finalized

The local salary negotiations at the University of Oslo (UiO) for 2025 have now been concluded. This year’s settlement is an interim settlement, which means that only salary has been subject to negotiations.

The results

In the salary settlements, the trade union federations Akademikerne, Unio, LO, and YS negotiate with the state.

In this year’s settlement, all the trade union federations have adhered to an overall framework of 4.4 %, but they have different available frames.

Akademikerne and Unio 

  • Available frame: 3.3 %.
  • General percentage increase: 2.6 % (does not apply to those who left UiO in the period 1 May 2025 – 31 October 2025).
  • Remaining pool: Distributed through individual negotiations.

This is also the result for employees without affiliation to a trade union.

YS Stat

  • Available frame: 3.75 %.
  • Central increase: 1.05 % (paid out in September).
  • Local pool: 2.7 % distributed according to the following model (does not apply to those who left UiO in the period 1 May 2025 – 31 October 2025):
    • NOK 8,500 for employees earning up to NOK 639,999
    • NOK 9,000 for employees earning from NOK 640,000 to NOK 679,999
    • 1.35 % for employees earning from NOK 680,000 to NOK 899,999
    • 1.3 % for employees earning NOK 900,000 or more
  • Remaining pool: Distributed through individual negotiations.

LO Stat

  • Available frame: 3.6 %.
  • Central increase: NOK 6,600 + 1.5 % to all employees (paid out in September).
  • Remaining pool: Distributed through individual negotiations.

Payment 

The salary changes apply from 1 May 2025.

Payment will be made by the end of the year, and any other salary increases employees have received in the period after 1 May will be in addition to this.

All employees covered by the settlement will receive an email with information on how the settlement affects their own salary.

How the settlement is organized

  • Akademikerne and Unio have entered into a joint basic collective agreement in which both general and individual increases are negotiated locally.
  • LO State has a separate agreement with partially central and partially local increases.
  • YS State has a separate agreement with partially central and partially local increases.

Employees without affiliation to a trade union follow the largest agreement area by membership. At UiO, this is the collective agreement of Akademikerne and Unio.

Who is covered?

The settlement applies to employees who were employed at UiO as of 1 May 2025, with some exceptions described under the results.

The salary changes take effect from 1 May 2025 and will be paid retroactively by the Payroll Office by the end of the year.
