Salary negotiations 2024

The 2024 salary negotiations are a main settlement. This means that collective agreements will be negotiated for a period of two years. 

The National Wages Board issues its ruling by the end of November, and after this, the state, by the Ministry of Digitalisation and Public Governance, sends its annual letter with information on the settlement and the execution of local negotiations to the institutions.

The local salary negotiations at UiO can only begin after this, and UiO and the trade unions will start local salary negotiations as soon as it is practically possible after this information is received.

This means that the adjusted salary and back payment of the salary increase will be disbursed after the negotiations are concluded, which will be well into 2025.

We will provide further information on this when we have more details about the National Wages Board's ruling.

Salary negotiations 2024

The 2024 salary negotiations are a main settlement. This means that collective agreements will be negotiated for a period of two years.

The state negotiates with the four main trade confederations, Akademikerne, LO Stat, Unio, and YS Stat. In this year’s negotiations, an agreement was reached between the state and YS Stat.

Akademikerne and Unio did not reach an agreement with the state, resulting in a strike followed by compulsory arbitration. The National Wages Board will process the wage settlement on 7 November 2024. Non-unionised employees follow the agreement with Akademikerne and Unio.

LO Stat reached an agreement with the state, but the members voted against the new main collective agreement in a referendum. Subsequently, LO Stat and the state agreed to voluntary arbitration. The National Wages Board will process the wage settlement on 15 November 2024.

Employees are entitled to a yearly discussion with their immediate supervisor about competence, responsibilities, salary, and career development. You can request an interview at any time if your supervisor has not already offered it.
