Award phase

The award phase starts with the notice that the application has been approved and runs until the project commences.

The Faculty of Educational Sciences’ procedures complement the University of Oslo’s guide for research projects.

Project Manager

  • Informs of the results
  • Draws up a plan for entering into a contract with the funder and commencement of the project
  • Negotiates the contract with the funder and cooperation agreements with partners. The contract is signed by the head of unit. 
  • Assesses the privacy implications of the project
  • Draws up a data management plan

Research Adviser

  • Communicates procedures for project awards and commencement
  • Provides guidance in the work on cooperation agreements with partners and contracts with the funder
  • Initiates a kick-off meeting
  • Assists in obtaining necessary approvals
  • Files documents that must be in place before the project can be established in the University's finance system
  • Ensures that award letters are filed

Finance Officer

  • Assists the project manager in familiarising themselves with the financial procedures relating to externally funded projects 
  • Revises the project budgets as needed
  • Establishes the project in the University of Oslo’s finance system

Anchoring

The project manager is responsible for ensuring that support for the project is anchored among unit management.

During the award phase, the head of unit must sign the contract with the funder, as well as any cooperation agreements. All budget changes must also be approved by the head of unit.
