MN PES funding is primarily directed towards multi-partner projects. Funds may be used for strategic and targeted work towards an EU application 2-3 years ahead. It is emphasised that these funds are awarded in special cases only, where the additional funding is viewed as decisive for a proposal’s quality and finalisation.
Examples of activities that are supported:
- Arranging workshops at UiO for targeted scientific, European networking
- Travel related to the planning of future EU applications, such as shorter stays with potential partners, or attending conferences for connecting with potential project partners
- Inviting potential partners to Oslo
- Consulting services or similar when developing a multi-partner EU proposal where MN is the coordinator (beyond what is provided in central PES support)
- Travel to or host meetings to discuss a project proposal or upcoming call/topic with one or more partners or participate in EU information meetings (such as brokerage events).
Guidelines for applying for funds:
- Send the application by e-mail to Ingse Noremsaune at the MN Faculty
- Briefly describe the topic/field of research for the potential project
- Describe the concrete plan towards an EU proposal, max. three years ahead
- Describe activities, including a suggested budget per year
- Obtain the approval from the Head of Department
- For applications for funds in relation to a specific call/topic, only the above points 4 and 5 are relevant
