What responsibility do student supervisors have for the privacy of participants (informants or respondents) in student research?
Student supervisors are responsible for ensuring that the privacy of respondents or informants in student research at bachelor and master levels is safeguarded by the student.
Student supervisors’ responsibilities include the following tasks:
- assist student researchers at bachelor or master level so that the research is performed according to the same guidelines that apply to project managers in research projects
- control that student researchers respect the guidelines that apply to the processing of personal data in research at bachelor or master level. If control routines do not exist locally, they must be created. This is the responsibility of the dean and head of department.
