Workshop

A workshop is a development seminar, in which everyone at the unit participates. It is a tool that engages and makes employees accountable.

Why?

  • At a workshop, the knowledge and experience of a group of people or the entire unit, will be used to determine the development and improvement of the working environment. It is an intensive session that produces a lot of information in a short period of time.
  • Workshops can be used as preparation for other surveys, both physical and psycho-social, such as follow-up work after the work survey (ARK) (Norwegan), in risk assessments, in regular working environment reviews and in the development of new goals.

What is included?

  • Preparation for the workshop and the selection of a method and angle is carried out in cooperation with the manager and safety delegate.
  • The usual time spent on the actual workshop ranges from two hours to an entire day, depending on the complexity and topic.
  • There will normally be group work during the workshop.
  • The Occupational Health Service Unit will assist with the preparation, facilitation and follow-up work in connection with the workshop. The programme for the workshop is always tailored to the unit. Proposals for the programme may use ideas from: Solution-focused approach for groups, positive psychology, SWOT analysis and case-based workshops, to mention a few.

Preparations at the unit

The manager and safety delegate, and/or the local working environment committee, should discuss the purpose of the workshop and how the results should be used going forward.

Ordering

The unit manager is the orderer. It is recommended to include this with the unit’s action plan for use of the Occupational Health Service Unit.
