Courses on privacy and information security in research

UiO has developed digital introductory courses on privacy in research, which aim to provide scientific staff with fundamental knowledge about privacy, information security, and UiO's procedures in this area. The privacy course is mandatory for scientific staff at the Faculty of Medicine who are involved in research that uses personal data and takes 2-3 hours to complete.

Privacy and Information Security in Research: Module 1 – 3.

The IT Department at UiO, in collaboration with Centre for Learning, Innovation & Academic Development (LINK), has created a course on privacy in research. The course consists of three modules providing basic training in privacy, with an option for a fourth module tailored to professional profiles.

The course is suitable for all employees involved in research that uses personal data. The course is available in both Norwegian and English.

Privacy and Information Security in Research: Medical and Health-related Research Module 1 – 3 with Module 4  

The Faculty, in collaboration with the IT Department at UiO and the Department of Research and Innovation Administration (FIADM), has developed a fourth module for the course on privacy and information security, specifically tailored to medical and health-related research.

This fourth module is a course on the Quality System for Medical and Health-related Research.  

The fourth module of the course is an introduction to privacy and information security in medical and health-related research. The course is suitable for all employees involved in medical and health-related research. The course is available in both Norwegian and English.

Who has access to test results?  

As a participant, you will only see your own result. The results of the test will be recorded in your personnel file, and your manager will only see whether you have passed the course, not what you selected for the various multiple-choice questions.
