Target Audience

This course is primarily targeted on early career researchers such as PhD candidates and postdocs.?Administrative and/or scientific personnel might also benefit from this course, especially research advisors.

In this course, you will learn

  • The similarities and differences between "classic" and research project management.
  • The elevated risk levels in research projects and strategies for mitigating those risks.
  • How project management principles and methods, and research activities, can be utilized into transferable skills

Prerequisites and practical information

  • The course will be somewhat interactive with discussions in groups and pairs, as well as with the lecturer.
  • No course certificate will be provided

About the Instructor

Hiwa M?len is Research & Innovation Manager at AI Learn, the National Center for AI Research and Human Empowerment. He has a background as a Senior Advisor at the Research and Innovation Department at the University of Bergen and as a researcher, with extensive experience in project management across academia and the private sector. M?len is affiliated with NARMA (Norwegian Association of Research Management), and this course contributes to NARMA’s work on best-practice exchange within research administration.
