PLIVO (Acute and Life Threatening Violence (trans.)) is a New Expression used by the Police to describe any life-threatening situation that need immediate handling. It replaces and absorbs the former used Expressions, such as "active shooter", "School shooting" etc. PLIVO is about all kinds of life-threatening violence that may occur in the classroom/on campus.
The PLIVO course at UiO is specially developed for lectures and admin personnel at educational institutions that has a "duty to act" respnsibility in regards to their students in an acute, violent situation.
Purpose
The course is meant to give the participants the knowledge and the skills to actively plan, lead and execute necessary actions under stress, in situations where armed and/or violent persons presents a real and immediate threat to students, colleagues and yourself.

- What is PLIVO?
- Case studies of attacks
- Mental preparedness and physiological stress reactions
- Understanding of violence and human reactions
- Respnse to PLIVO: RUN - HIDE - FIGHT
- Correct behavior to Police response
- Mental follow-up to PLIVO/violence
