Contents of the course:
The ability to make well-founded career decisions, to mange own career direction and life demands- whether or not you choose to stay in academia- have become important career skills for PhD students.
This workshop will guide you through some critical career aspects of being a PhD student and show you how to use your PhD period in the best possible way- career wise. We will alter between presentations, group discussions, individual tasks, experience sharing, reflective processes and Q&A in plenum.
We will cover the following questions:

- Is career planning possible? And if so, how to find the right career pathway and set realistic goals?
- How to handle career crossroads, career decisions and how to deal with our future work-life when much is uncertain and when we can't know what the future holds.
- How to handle work-life balance questions when you both have career aspirations and caring responsibilities?
You will have the opportunity to network and to talk about important career questions with other PhD students and be inspired by Dr. Monika Janfelt. Read more about us and what we do here.
