1. Notify your change of address to:
- The Norwegian Post (posten.no) and all your friends and contacts about your permanent change of address. The post may forward your post for 2 months for free. You need to notify them 6 days in advance of moving. Note that this is just a temporary solution to give you time to notify all your contacts of your new address. After the 2 months have passed, they will stop forwarding your post and any letter with the old address will be returned to sender. If you do not have MyID, you may go to a post office/post-in-shop and do it manually there (remember to bring your passport/national ID-card)
- The Norwegian National Registry:
2. Check the apartment for damages and missing inventory
Please report to us any need for repair work and replacement of missing items on the basis of the inventory list (found when clicking on your house and "inventory).
3. Leave your apartment in a tidy state
- Remove all personal belongings from the apartment and storage room.
- Throw away all garbage.
- All floors, cupboards, oven and shower needs to be cleaned. No need to clean windows, walls or ceiling unless they are very dirty. Do NOT wash curtains, couch covers or bedspreads as they may shrink or change colour.
- Bedlinen and towels used the last night before moving may be deposited in the laundry basket.
- Empty dishwasher
- Do NOT take out all the cords, please leave them in.
- If you have re-arranged the furniture, please put it back in same order as it was when you moved in
- Tenants in Duehaugveien, Sognsveien and Minister Ditleffsvei: Please leave the key to the storage in the keybox in the apartment, do NOT deliver it together with the rest of the keys.
Please note: Anything left in the apartment that does not belong there will be removed at your expense (even though you think the next tenant might use it). Minimum charge is NOK 500.
4. Hand in your keys on the day of your move to:
- The UiO Security and Alarm Centre (pdf) (Vaktsentralen), open 24/7
- Tenants living in Heggelibakken 64, Minister Ditleffsvei 20 and Sognsveien 66 may leave the key in the post box for a fee (NOK 500). Please contact us if you want to use this option.
5. If leaving Norway
If you are leaving Norway, you may find useful information in ISMO's End of stay section.
