Students at Risk: Ten years of protecting the right to education for human rights defenders

This year marks the 10-year anniversary of the Students at Risk (StAR) programme and we would like to take this opportunity to celebrate its achievements, as well as share our experiences with stakeholders and interested actors, in Norway and abroad.

We look forward to discussing the achievements, lessons learned, and challenges the Students at Risk programme has faced, but also look into the current situation for student activists globally, hear experiences from similar programs, and discuss how we together can strengthen the protection and support given to young human rights defenders.

We will be joined, amongst others, by the UN Special Rapporteur on human rights defenders, Mary Lawlor, as well as the Norwegian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Espen Barth Eide.

Please note that physical attendance for this event is by invitation only.

This event is a collaboration between SAIH, NSO, HK-dir, and the University of Oslo.
