Paid parking from December 1, 2025

Starting Monday, December 1, you will need to pay for parking at UiO. Following October 16 you do not need to use the Apcoa Flow app.

From Monday, December 1, 2025, students and employees must pay 40 kroner per day to park on UiO’s campuses. If you have a municipal HC permit, you can still park for free, no matter if you use a designated HC spot or a regular parking spot.

New parking app, but not quite yet

Earlier this year, UiO announced that a parking fee would be introduced by the end of 2025 and issues a tender for parking services this autumn. Park Nordic is now confirmed to be the new provider.

Park Nordic will use the time until December 1 to get all technical aspects and parking signage up and running on the campuses. Starting October 16, you should no longer use the Apcoa Flow app, nor should you register your vehicle in the Park Nordic app before UiO login is in place.

Although the Park Nordic app is not operational yet, you should continue to park as usual. As an employee, you can park in the employee parking area, and as a student, you can park in the student parking area behind Frederikkebygningen.

These are the changes

The new parking regime applies to all of UiO, without local adjustments.

  • The parking fee is in effect from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday to Friday. This also includes rented areas outside of UiO’s campuses.
  • From December 1, you must pay via the Park Nordic mobile app. You pay either per day or for an entire month at a time.
  • You will still log in with your UiO username and password. UiO’s parking website will be updated with information on how to register your vehicle when the UiO login is operational.
  • The use of physical cards with parking codes for contractors, emeriti and visitors will be discontinued. From December 1, everyone must register and pay via the Park Nordic mobile app. This will now be possible for anyone with a UiO username and password, including emeriti and those affiliated with Guest Registration, who may park in employee spots. Contractors will be registered manually and will have access to A (ansatt), S (student) and E (entrepren?r) spots.
  • If you ride a motorcycle, you must also pay for parking, regardless of whether you are parked in a designated MC spot at Nedre Blindern or in a regular sparking spot. It is not allowed to park motorcycles outside of marked spaces.
