The awards for 2024 go to:
- Research Award: Professor Ingunn Kathrine Wehus and Professor Hans Kristian K. Eriksen, Institute of Theoretical Astrophysics
- Education Award: Associate Professor Omid Mirmotahari, Department of Informatics
- Communication Award: Professor Hilde Henriksen Waage, Department of Archaeology, Conservation and History
- Innovation Award: Professor Svein-Erik Hamran, Department of Technology Systems
- Award for Young Researchers: Professor Emily Annika Burger, Institute of Health and Society
"With these prizes, we highlight the very best researchers, communicators, and teachers at UiO. I look forward to presenting the awards at UiO's annual celebration in September," says Rector Svein St?len.
Pro-Rector ?se Gornitzka heads the committee responsible for the awards.
"I would like to warmly congratulate all the award winners! We are proud and grateful to have such outstanding staff at UiO. There have been very strong candidates for all the award this year. The winners contribute with groundbreaking and important research, education, innovation, and dissemination. These awards mean a lot to the entire research community," she says.
About the University Board Awards
The University of Oslo annually acknowledges achievements in research, education, dissemination, and innovation through five awards.
The awards aim to stimulate increased activity and inspire the academic communities at the university. Each winner receives 250,000 NOK and a work of art.
