HSE-Prize

The University of Oslo's HSE Prize is awarded annually to a person or group at UiO who has made a significant contribution to the work environment at UiO. The prize was established in 2016 by UiO's working environment committee and is a continuation of Frode Olsgard's memorial prize.

Price and distribution

  • The recipient of the award is awarded NOK 50,000, which is transferred to the unit where the person concerned works
  • The money will be used to reinforce or improve the HSE work at the unit
  • The HSE prize is awarded during the annual LAMU seminar in March

Award Criteria

Based on an overall assessment, the prize is awarded to an employee who, beyond what one can expect,

  • through their daily activities, their research or their positions contribute to putting important issues within the working environment and learning environment on the agenda
  • promotes constructive proposals and measures that contribute to creating a better working and learning environment
  • is the driving force behind implementing and following up working environment measures
  • is a positive contributor to a good working environment for colleagues, managers and/or students at their unit
  • contributes to increasing understanding and knowledge of work with systematic health, environment and safety

Who can nominate?

All employees at UiO can nominate candidates for the HMS award. The same applies to units, councils and committees as well as organizations associated with UiO (student organisations, trade unions etc.)

The award was instituted in 2016 by UiO's working environment committee and is a continuation of Frode Olsgard's memorial award.
