Parking for visitors

From December 1, 2025, all guests and short-term visitors must pay to park via Park Nordic's parking app. Visitors can also use the guest parking areas with parking meters. These areas have their own rates, and an active parking permit is not required. The maximum parking duration is 48 hours.

Areas with metered parking spaces:

  • Blindern
  • Chateau Neuf
  • Gaustad
  • Silurveien

Visits lasting several days

If you are?visiting UiO for more than one day, you can get a temporary parking permit and use parking spaces marked with A and S. Please contact your host at UiO well in advance, and they will arrange the permit for you.

Alternatively, you may also use the guest parking spots with parking meters. These spaces have their own rates and do not require a permit.

Contractors, craftsmen, service companies etc.

From December 1, 2025, contractors, craftsmen, service companies and similar who are to carry out work on UiO's premises must also pay to park. Contact your host at UiO, and they will arrange a temporary parking permit.

The duration should not exceed three months.

Cars with parking permit marked E can park in A, E and S places.

Deliveries

Deliveries, such as to the stores in Frederikkebygningen, catering, or relocation services, are exempt from the parking regulations. This means they can park outside of marked spaces and do not need to pay the parking fee.?

Drivers must be able to show a confirmation of the order upon request.

Rules for parking

Campus parking is regulated in accordance with the standard terms of private parking enforcement (pklagenemnda.no).
