Many choices
At the University of Oslo, your entire education can be based on studies related to climate, environment, and sustainability, or you can supplement your study program with green courses.
Sustainability certificate
From autumn 2023 you can obtain the new Sustainability certificate. The certificate is available for students from all faculties, consists of 20 credits, and will be specified on your diploma.
Students in a bachelor program, five or six-year professional programs, and visiting exchange students are all eligible to participate.
Honours certificate
At UiO you can supplement your master's degree with an Honours certificate. The certificate will give you interdisciplinary competence in the fields of climate, environment, and sustainability.
The certificate is 20 credits and you take it in addition to your regular master's programme courses.
The Sustainability Award
Every year, UiO presents an award for the best master’s thesis dealing with subjects related to the sustainability agenda. These three won in 2023.
Our ambitions
- Develop new forms of climate and environment education, from bachelor to PhD, and at continuing and further education levels.
